• BOOKING VEHICLES

The following conditions apply to ALL members when requesting transport from the Sports Union:

1. A Transport Request Form must be completed by clubs who wish to hire a vehicle from the Sports Union and must be in WRITING.  Click to DOWNLOAD or complete one in SU Office, Level 7.  Click here to download guidelines for completing a Transport Request Form.
2. Each booking is provided on a 24 hour basis - i.e. pick-up vehicle at 10am MUST be returned at 10am the following day.  Please co-ordinate your booking with the hire company opening times (found in table below).  Details can also be found on the back of the forms.
3. Bookings for vehicle hire MUST be made 7 days in advance of hire, and will cost the clubs £35 per day per vehicle.  All requests & forms for transports should be returned to the SU Admin Officer, Leanne Carnan ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it / 0141 567 5060)
4. Upon hiring a vehicle from the SU, all drivers must submit a photocopy of their driving licence (both card - 2 sides - and paper part).
5. A Drivers Pack must be collected for the use of a Minibus - which can be picked up from the SU Office.  Under no circumstances can members drive a minibus without a Drivers Pack.  Please arrange collection of this prior to your trip by contacting the SU Office.
6. The Drivers Pack MUST be returned to the office by 10am the day after the trip, or 10am Monday if it is a weekend trip.
7. Once booked, a confirmation e-mail with details of the vehicle booking will be sent from the SU, containing all the details of your booking & reservation numbers.
8. Members are required to ensure that vehicles are returned to hire companies with the amount of fuel started with, and the inside of the vehicle left clean and tidy, and most importantly - returned on time!  If you run over your hire time you may be charged for an extra day's hire, and will not be insured!
9. If the event of an accident with your hired vehicle, you MUST inform the Sports Development Officer ASAP so that the SU can contact our insurance company.
10. For further information about minibuses, please refer to the Driver's Handbook in the Drivers pack, which you will receive when you hire out the SU minibus.

• WHO CAN DRIVE VEHICLES?

1. Any Sports Union member who is over the age of 21 years old, with 2 years driving experience can drive vans, cars or people carriers (up to 9 seaters).
2. Any Sports Union member who wishes to drive a minibus MUST complete a MIDAS theory & practical test - which are provided by the Sports Union.  Click here for more information.
